Advanced training, education and development in the practice, technique and theory of evidence based STPP
This Core Training in ISTDP is a programme training, education and development in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) within a framework of evidence-based Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (STPP). It is part of the commitment by Cathexis and Cathexis Academy to the provision of advanced, courses to enable clinicians to develop high levels of competence in evidence based treatments.
Core Training is built around six core modules over three years. These six core modules provide the substance of training in ISTDP and evidence based STPP. There is an annual immersion event as part of the programme. The programme of training follows an international standard recognised by IEDTA, and as such is accredited by IEDTA. Graduates will receive international recognition. In addition there are primary and access modules providing preparation for the core modules if required, and optional and additional modules and workshops providing support for the core modules for extended learning.
Modules are supported by programmes of advanced seminars, workshops and study days, and by regular clinical supervision. A full, accredited and qualifying training can be undertaken over a period of three years, depending on previous training and experience.
